Do we really need antivirus software?

I honestly believe that we live in a very special time. A lot of technological breakthroughs are happening even as I write this post. But I refuse to believe that we have put a man on the moon, built an electric car, developed the most intricate GPS devices, but haven't been able to keep hackers out of our computing environment. What?

A lot of hype and campaign dollars are geared toward the Fear Factor of Viruses and Spyware/Malware. Just properly knowing the basic facts about your computer can save you thousands of dollars for the life of your computer. Hint: your computer is a disc.

I stopped using Anti-Virus software 6 years ago. Do I miss it? Hell no. Am I richer? Yes. Lots. I have about 20 machines that I manage in a network. At any given moment I can remotely repair/access any of them, even from my iPhone. Back then if I had spent $75 a year on subscriptions, per 20 machines, I'd be broke. That's $1,500 a year. 6 years @ $1,500 a year is a whopping $8,000!!!

My case may be extreme, but you get the point. Anti-Virus software is overrated! The protection I rely on for all of my machines is indeed bullet proof. I can be up and running in mere seconds after ANY attack, ANY crash, ANY problem. Even if Windows won’t boot. You’d have to see it to believe it. Pure Magic. My machines all run like they are brand new, fresh out of the box. Ask me how.
